Allisa-Zee Hartmann received her BA in Dance and Theater Arts from Beloit College in 2004. During her program she had the opportunity to dance in original dances by Chris Johnson, Margaret Rennerfeldt, Jin Wen Yu, Erica Wilson Perkins, Linda Lehovec, Aiko Kinoshita, Edisa Weeks and BJ Sullivan as well as debut a variety of her own choreographic works, two of which were adjudicated at ACDFA and one (“Get In The Ring”) that was invited to the National festival in Washington D.C in 2004 as a runner-up. She also traveled to Moscow, Russia with Chelonia Dance Company as a soloist to perform in a national competition, for which they received grand prix accolades. Since then she has danced in Chicago with RTG Dance, ReBound Dance, ecnDanceworks (now The Moving Architects) and Thread Meddle Outfit. She is currently dancing for BreakBone Dance and The Space/Movement Project, as well as slowly building her own repertoire of dances.

In 2007, Zee received her Associates in Fashion Design from IADT, Chicago. She is the resident costume designer for the dance companies Thread Meddle Outfit and The Space/Movement Project, and has also designed for The Movement Architects, Rebound Dance, LIVE ANIMALS, Colleen Halloran and Synapse Arts Collective. Her theater credits include Assistant Designer of Porchlight Theater’s “Phantom of the Opera”, and “We don’t like being shushed!”, a Redmoon Neighborhood Arts Program Production. She was the Head Designer of Stage Left Theater’s Leap Fest Five play festival and “Bustin’ out of the Hell” by Factory Theater.
